Sustainable natural resources development
Natural resources are the foundation for our socio-economic development which must be sustainably developed, conserved and managed for our benefit and that of future generation.
Water resources management
We provide water resource management related services. Our services are based on integrated approach to water resources which ensures that the management, development and utilisation of water resources, meets the needs of socio economic, environmental, sustainability and multi-sectoral water demands.
Water-energy-food nexus
Water, energy and food systems are inextricably interconnected in that water and energy are needed to produce food, water is needed for almost all forms of power generation and energy is required to treat and transport water. Our work focuses on the development of integrated approaches to water, energy, and food security (WEF nexus approach) that can promote more efficient use of national resources and decrease stresses on the environment associated with economic development.
Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH)
Access to safe water, adequate sanitation, and proper hygiene services can reduce illness and death from disease, leading to improved health, poverty reduction, and socio-economic development. We provide technical support to Government and Non-Governmental Organizations on WASH programmes which include designing WASH adaptation and mitigation interventions in response to climate change, hygiene behaviour change, promoting rights – based WASH approaches and M&E of WASH programmes and project, and building WASH capacity.
Climate change adaptation and mitigation
Climate change threatens the fibric of our existence and our role is to assist governments, companies and communities to identify risks and reduce their vulnerability by developing appropriate adaptation strategies that build effective resilience. The effects of climate change can be reduced by minimizing greenhouse gas emissions. Our work involve measurement of GHG emissions in all sectors and development of strategies for reducing.
Agricultural development
We provide technical advice on the sustainable management of rain-fed and irrigated agricultural systems with special focus on revitalisation of smallholder irrigation schemes in developing countries. We provide technical support on climate-smart agricultural technologies.
Policy development and analysis
We are engaged in public policy research, evaluation and consultations in all sectors. We use evidence-based research findings to provide institutions responsible for planning and implementation with public policy suggestions and recommendations regarding relevance, efficiency and impact of the policy decisions at all stages of public policy process.
Capacity building
We provide tailor-made training in various areas to build the human capacity of organisations so that they face the current changing world and realise the value of their contribution towards shaping and flourishing in sustainable economies.
Monitoring and evaluation
We help organisations in creating monitoring and evaluation programs that determine the efficiency of projects while using evidence-based research knowledge to help improve performance of development projects and inform policy or investment decisions.
